November, 2011:
The new season of the succesful reality-gameshow "Quiztaxi" was produced using the CUNIMA
Since mid October the Austrian TV Station "Puls 4" shows new episodes of "Quiztaxi". This show puts the unsuspecting passengers of a taxi into a quiz show where they can win money instead of paying for their ride.As a hidden, small and remote controllable camera, that provides a high quality image, the CUNIMA was exactly the right deal.
With a shooting time of 8 days, the cameras had to be reliable the whole time and to defy adverse conditions. With tinted windows and shoots at night the light situation never was easy to handle. The CUNIMA on the outside of the car also had to face different weather types, like hot sun or even rain. All 6 CUNIMAs in the car were exposed to daily vibrations and shocks during the whole day. Not a single failure did occure.
With wideangle 5mm lenses equipped, the cameras captured every action in frame. Overall 6 AJA Ki Pros did record the SDI-Signal that was delivered, directly from the BNC-connector at the back of the CUNIMA.
The actual clue at this production, was the wireless infrastructure of both the taxi and the support vehicle. WIGE provided the transmitter-system to control every value of the camera from the RCP 64, which was located in the support vehicle. Together with the wireless transmission of the picture to the multiviewer in the support vehicle, the enginner had total control every time.
A very unique and usable feature was the eagle PT-50 remote head in combination with a Fujinon zoom lens, in the back of the taxi. This way they had a CUNIMA that was able to pan, tilt and zoom. All that controllable via wireless connection from the support vehicle.
