November, 2008:
The FKT (professional journal of television, film and electronic media) praised the CUNIMA unit for stereoscopic recordings especially regarding ‘3D-Mobilty’. The camera system from WIGE even decorated the front page.
"More news about 3D and stereoscopic HD-Akquisition, -Production and -Editing: Besides 3D scanners, 3D-NLE-Editing and -Compositing-Solutions, 3D Colour correction- and 3D-Displaytechnology from different producers (da Vinci, Quantel, Autodesk, Philips), WIGE Media AG demonstrated ‘3D-Mobility’. Two Cunima MCU[1] HD cameras on a TS3-rig from 3ality Digital formed a mobile recording unit, which recorded 3D signals live and uncompressed as a stereoscopic signal on a Megacine SSD Fieldrecorder from MikroM GmbH. No project study but a well functioning 3D-Workflow-System (recorded uncompressed, transferred with the Transfer-Software MediaPort on a Backup-PC-System, then converted with the Encoder-Software MediaEncore to JPEG2000-MXF-Format and played out with the MVP200.)
The TS3-rig is a camera platform, which is designed especially to record stereoscopic signals for auto-stereoscopic flat-screens, where you can see 3D without glasses.
The photomontage in the back of the picture is made by Lomography.com at the Photokina exhibition: analog and not digital – a proof for the high quality film still features." (Text translated by WIGE Media AG)
